APPENDIX II

INSTRUCTION LEAGUE 2

NOTE:   Except as specifically amended in the Local Rules and Interpretations or in this Appendix, the Instructional League 2 (2nd grade) will be governed by the Official 2010 Little League rules pertaining to the Tee Ball Division

AMENDMENTS (listed alphabetically):

Base Running –

1.      Stealing is not permitted.  Base runners are permitted to leave a base ONLY when the batter strikes the ball.

2.      Runners may advance ONE (1) base, at their own risk, on any overthrows.

3.      Once a live ball is returned to the pitcher’s circle (or the general vicinity thereof), a runner may only advance if he is at least halfway to the next base.

4.      The infield fly rule does not apply.

5.      Only ONE (1) extra base (without liability to be put out) is to be allowed on overthrows into dead ball territory.

Batting –

1.      Bunting is NOT permitted

2.      A batter who incurs three (3) swinging strikes is out.

3.      No bases on ball will be awarded.

Game length – Six (6) innings or two (2) hours, whichever comes first.

Inning length – Subject to the coaches discretion, a half-inning is over as soon as five (5) runs or three (3) outs are recorded, whichever comes first.

Pitching – Players will pitch, subject to the following rules:

1.      No pitcher will pitch more than two (2) innings

2.      If a pitcher has thrown 4-5 pitches and the batter has not put the ball in play, a coach will commence pitching until the at bat has been completed.  Once the at-bat has been completed and a new batter comes up, the kid pitcher may resume pitching.
